Make tax exempt purchases on behalf of your organization directly online at Sony Store. If your organization qualifies for a sales tax exemption, follow the simple steps below to submit your information via email.

  • How to Qualify

    • Many government, education, non-profit, religious and select other organizations could qualify for tax exemptions. An account must be created in the Business Store and the tax exempt setup process must be completed prior to an order being placed and eligible for tax exemption.
    • We are not able to issue tax credits for orders placed in the Consumer Store or for orders placed before the setup process is complete.
    • An electronic copy of your tax exempt certificate is needed.
    • Resellers and distributors don't qualify for tax exempt status at the Sony Direct Business Store online, over the phone or in our retail locations. If you're interested in becoming a reseller, please click here to apply.
    Please Note:
    • Processing could take up to 5 business days.
    • Due to the holiday rush, between November 10, 2015 and December 3, 2015, we will be unable to process requests for tax exempt setup. You may submit your exemption certificate using the instructions on this page, but it will not be processed until after December 3, 2015. Thank you for your patience.
  • How to Apply

    • Attach your tax exempt certificate to an email requesting your Tax Exemption. Create an account for your organization in the Business Store and include the e-mail address used for the account on all correspondence.
    • Include in the cover email any of the following items NOT included on the certificate itself:
      • Code/certificate number, name, jurisdiction, issue date, expiration date, contact name, street address, city, state, zip, country, phone, fax, email
    • Send your email to TaxExemption@am.sony.com
